UPStitch: Refashioning textiles of the past

Join renowned fashion designer Lydia Pearson and artist Shilo Engelbrecht for a makers workshop with a difference.

Often tucked away at the back of drawers, participants are invited to bring in family crocheted tablecloths, throws, runners, fabrics, doilies and more. Collectively a new creation will be fabricated, and exhibited as part of our popup gallery in Re:Collections UPFront on Queen Street.

Toad Busting Exhibition

This exhibition is presented in collaboration with VERMIN and fights the war on cane toads by transforming these toxic invaders into bespoke designs and chic fashion.

VERMIN is a collaboration between Lia Tabrah from Melbourne and Torres Strait Islander, Perina Drummond, who invited Melbourne-based designers and artists to create custom bespoke designs from cane toad skin. Think tropical Mad Max, Australian 80s grunge and apocalypse chic.
